Art Festival 48 H Neukölln I June 2019
„FutureLeaks- Escape Dystopia“ is an escape room, which combines performance, political art and social interaction. „Escape Dystopia“ got carried out to public in june 2019 at „48 Stunden Neukölln“, an annual Festival of art in Berlin´s district Neukölln. It took place in an abandoned store area in a shopping center in the heart of Neukölln. The performance threw visitors into the underground world of the year 2039, when fundamental ecological problems devastated vast parts of the world, which would be a direct consequence of (in)-actions on vast ecological problems of the present. Participants needed to organize in that destroyed world they landed in a Transitschein to go back in the present. By resolving tasks, given by the performers, such as a casino for resolving moral dilemmas, face-to-face inquiries and formulating news for a more sustainable future, the participants had to „earn“ their release from the dystopian scenario, they found themselves in.
“Those who have managed to come back to the present have drawn up an action plan on how to avoid the destroyed future they have just experienced.”
“ONLY THOSE WHO REWRITE THE FUTURE HISTORY GET BACK TO THE PRESENT.”
Imagine that you walk through a door in a shopping center and you land in 2039, which shows the catastrophic consequences of our actions today! And you won't come out until you rewrite the history of the future.
